How new icons are added
IconDrop pulls from the OpenMoji upstream project, a meticulously crafted open-source archive of pictograms maintained by the design school at the University of Applied Sciences in Schwäbisch Gmünd. When OpenMoji ships a new release, our editors review every new asset, assign it to the right IconDrop categories, write a short description tuned for product UI work, and push it live. Most weeks that means between five and twenty new icons.
If there is an icon you wish existed and don't see in the archive, the OpenMoji project accepts proposals from the public. Send us a note via the contact page and we will help shepherd the request upstream so other designers benefit too.
